I was first licenced in 1969 as VK5ZMO. I upgraded in 1979 to VK5AMK.
I later took up the 2 letter call VK5KC which was held by Ken Cahill, a workmate at Telstra, and mentor in amateur radio.
I was voted in to the SA Division Council in 1981. Over the next 10 years I held various posts including:
Membership Secretary
Country members liaison
Alternate Federal Councillor and Vice President
Federal Councillor
DOC Liaison (Dept of Communications)
Equipment Supplies Committee
Work and family were priorities for the next few years.
I was the North East Radio Club Secretary from 2001 to 2005, the Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio Society Secretary from 2006 to 2011, and the AHARS club President from 2011 to 2013.
My main interests are VHF/UHF, Field Day and portable.
